Places of growth:
It is cultivated in the plains of Sindh and Punjab, as well as in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).
Large quantities are exported from ports
like Tuticorin and Visakhapatnam.

Internal use:
It is a carminative (relieves gas), refreshing, and strengthens the heart and brain. It prevents
vapours from rising to the brain, helping with conditions like palpitation, anxiety, and
dizziness. It
strengthens the stomach and helps stop diarrhoea.
External use:
It has a calming effect when used externally. Gargling with its water helps with mouth sores
and throat pain. Applying coriander water to the eyes can prevent pox blisters in the eyes.
When combined with other
suitable medicines, it is used to treat inflammation.
One popular compound medicine made from coriander is Itrifal Kashnizi. Roasted coriander is
also used as a powder to relieve bloating, indigestion, and to reduce excessive desire. It's also
given to young children
for colic, either mixed with water or as a powder.
