The vegetable commonly known as "thipper" in Pahari,
"Turnip" in English, "tufel" in Arabic, "shalgham"
in Persian, "gogroon" in Sindhi, and "gongloo" in Punjabi
is widely recognized.
COLOUR:
It comes in different colours, such
as white, red, and yellow, but is white inside.
TASTE:
It has a slightly sweet taste .
TEMPERAMENT:
Considered warm and moist in nature.

Its effects and uses are beneficial for digestion and as a diuretic. Turnips
are cooked in curries and, due to their expectorant properties, help relieve
cough. They are highly nutritious and promote the production of healthy blood.
Regular consumption of turnips strengthens eyesight. Pickled turnips are also
prepared, which stimulate appetite. The seeds are even stronger in all these
effects than the turnip itself.
